Family Mediation
Family Dispute Resolution provides a structured process for parents and former partners to work through parenting arrangements, property matters, and separation-related decisions. The focus is on improving communication, exploring options, and reaching practical agreements where possible.
Available in person at The Resolution Suites in Strathpine, online, by telephone, or in a hybrid format.
No additional venue hire fees apply.
This process includes:

Individual intake consultation with each parent

Invitation and engagement of the other parent

Preparation and assessment of suitability for mediation

Joint mediation or shuttle mediation, depending on needs of the family

Drafting of agreements and mediation outcomes
-
Issue of a Section 60I certificate where required and appropriate

$490 per person (60 minutes)
Joint Sessions:
$490 per hour (shared between the parties)

Note:
To secure a mediation date, a deposit equivalent to four hours of mediation ($1,960 including GST) is required prior to the commencement of mediation. Where participants are sharing costs equally, each participant is responsible for $980 including GST. The deposit will be applied to mediation time used on the day. If less than four hours of mediation time is required, any unused portion of the deposit will be refunded following the mediation. If mediation extends beyond four hours, additional time will be invoiced following the mediation and is payable within seven days.
Child-Inclusive Consultation
Child-Inclusive Consultation provides children with a developmentally appropriate opportunity to have their experiences and perspectives thoughtfully considered during family decision-making. Feedback is shared with parents to support greater understanding of their child’s needs, experiences, and wellbeing.
Available at The Resolution Suites or integrated into an existing mediation process.
This process includes:

Supervised Parent-Child Contact
Supervised Parent-Child Contact provides a safe, neutral, and child-focused environment for children to spend time with a parent or significant family member when supervision is required. The service supports the continuation and development of family relationships while prioritising children’s safety, wellbeing, and emotional needs.

This process includes:

Review of relevant court orders and supporting documents

Child orientation session (where appropriate)

Professionally supervised contact visits

Observation and documentation of contact sessions

Parent Intake:
$275 per person (60 minutes)
Child Orientation:
$150 (30 minutes) (shared between the parties)
Supervised Contact Visit:
$250 per hour (shared between the parties)
Additional Services:
Written summaries, affidavits, and court attendance are provided on a factual and observational basis only. The service does not provide expert opinions, family reports, recommendations regarding parenting arrangements, or independent assessments of parental capacity.
Contact Observation Summary
$300 fixed fee
Preparation of a factual written summary of supervised contact sessions, including observations of attendance, interactions, and relevant events during contact.
Affidavit Preparation
$350 per hour
Preparation of affidavits or court documents relating to supervised contact services where requested or required.
Subpoena Compliance
$250 per hour
Review of subpoena material, document collation, administration, and preparation of records in response to a subpoena.
Court Attendance
$350 per hour
Attendance at court for the purpose of giving factual evidence regarding supervised contact services.
Minimum 3-hour charge applies.
Travel time charged at the standard hourly rate where applicable.
